Description of wine:
We have here a wine prepared by the technique of fortifying the fermenting must with high-grade distillate, i.e. the technology used for Port wines. The wine matured 33 months in small oak barrels. It is nicely mature, reminiscent of stewed morello cherry jam but also having a touch of blackcurrant and blueberry. Its flavour is complemented by the hint of charred oak wood evoking nuances of chocoate and coffee. These last two items are also thoroughly recommended to go with this wine.
